This is the fourth in a series of regular news articles from SWTBC. Owing to technical issues the first few are published retrospectively.

Saffron Walden Town’s A team got back to winning ways in the North West Essex top division last week with a solid performance against surprise early leaders Stebbing. At Stebbing the side won 52 – 45 giving them a 6 points to 2 win. In a strange reversal of fortune, the Town Bs, after their strong start to the season, had a 54 – 45 loss (2 – 6) to Thaxted As on their home green. The C team were back in action this week but also lost on two rinks to one, also away against Stansted Bs.

In the Tuesday seniors league the team also lost to Bishop Stortford away. There was no fixture for the Friday Bumpstead league side.

On the individual front, Alix Rouse beat Clacton bowler Joshua Jones 21 – 12 on Monday and will face old rival Tom Lesslie from Wanstead in the last 8 of the U24 County singles.
